I got to sleep in until 9:30am and then I had my one class of the day (the afternoon classes at the other school were canceled because they were all going to the cinema)! It went just fine—I taught the kids how to cut paper snowflakes! They’re now hooked…
After class, I came home to hang out with Alison (who ended up staying for lunch because she missed the train) for a while. I didn’t do much during the afternoon…it’s still really stormy and unpleasant outside. I did, however, make apple bread (using the pumpkin bread recipe, but using apples instead) for the potluck we’re having at school tomorrow. I realized that we didn’t have enough sugar, so I had to run down to the grocery store—only to discover I’d left my money at home! So, back I ran and then grabbed a bike to get back to the store before it closed! Luckily the lady who works there is the mom of one of my students and she recognized me…so I ended up staying there chatting with her for another 10 minutes. I love small towns!
This evening I watched Love Actually with Catherine. Yes, I did watch 3/4 of it yesterday with Alison, but I was happy to watch it again! And Catherine really liked it, so that’s good! When the movie was over, I went downstairs to sit with Catherine and talk for a while. We tend to have good conversations late at night (even when we’re speaking French…)!
